In 2019, Side Street Cafe had its first baby! The Annex was created to give Side Street customers, and the community, a place for something different. Elevated Cocktails and Live Music were are the core of The Annex creation.

Fast forward to today, The Annex has become the premier (small) live music venue in Bar Harbor, featuring live music 7 nights a week during the season. Owner’s Jeff and Jena Young upgraded the entire room, including being the first bar to install its own PA system.

In the non-peak season, The Annex is home to private events, comedy shows, non-profit fundraisers, and so much more.

Hospitality Director Jasmine Burne has made The Annex a cocktail destination, both from a quality and creative standpoint.

You can order the full Side Street Menu until 9 pm. In 2026, The Annex launches oyster service, and has an additional late night menu until 11 pm.
